Competition Details

The Innisfail Young Performers Competition continuously refines and updates its program each year. Sections are reviewed, adjusted, added, or retired based on feedback and participation from previous competitions, ensuring that opportunities for young performers remain relevant, engaging, and accessible.

The competition is held in early June and runs over several days, depending on the number of entrants. The program traditionally opens with the Speech & Drama sections, followed by the Music sections held at the Conservatorium. Choral sections and the Championship categories are conducted at the Innisfail Shire Hall.

A Preliminary Program is released on this website at the beginning of each year, with entries typically closing about one month before the competition. Adjudicators change annually and are selected from across Queensland and beyond, bringing diverse expertise and perspectives to the event.

All entries are completed online via the link provided on this site. A small entry fee applies to assist with the costs of running the competition, including venues, adjudicators, and trophies.
