The Innisfail Young Performers Competition is powered by the community — and at its heart are the amazing volunteers who give their time, energy, and enthusiasm to make it all happen.
Each year, we welcome hundreds of young performers from across North Queensland to showcase their talents in music, dance, and speech & drama. Behind the scenes, our volunteers ensure that every performance runs smoothly, every child feels supported, and every audience member enjoys a memorable experience.
Why Volunteer?

Whether you can help for a few hours or a few days, your time makes a real difference.
How You Can Help
There are many ways to get involved depending on your interests and availability. We always need volunteers for roles such as:
- Front Desk and Registration – Welcome performers and families, help with sign-ins, and provide general information.
- Stage Assistance – Assist with stage setup, manage props, or help ensure quick transitions between performances.
- Timekeeping and Scribing – Support adjudicators by recording times, marking results, or preparing certificates.
- Audience and Venue Support -Usher audience members, manage seating, and help maintain a friendly, supportive environment.
Every volunteer role contributes to the smooth running of the competition and helps create a professional, encouraging atmosphere for our performers.
